Hello, my name is Emeli Evans, and I am excited to join Twilight Psychology as a master’s level LPA-T under the supervision of Dr. Heather Cornett. I earned my master’s in clinical psychology from Capella University in 2023 and gained experience in therapy and assessment during my doctoral practicum at the University of the Cumberlands. Over the past year, I’ve specialized in autism, ADHD, and Intellectual Developmental Disorder assessments for children and adults, while also providing therapy across all age groups.
I take a neuroaffirmative approach to assessment and incorporate play and expressive art therapy for children, while using feminist, multicultural, ACT, and skills-based modalities for adolescents and adults. I also integrate psychodynamic theory to address childhood trauma.
As a neurodivergent professional, I am passionate about fostering understanding of the autism spectrum and promoting neuroaffirmative practices among other professionals. I am a member of the APA, KPA, and PDA Society of North America, and I enjoy supporting clients exploring sexual and gender identity, as well as alternative relationships.
Outside of work, I share life with my long-term partner, two neurodivergent teens, and four ball pythons. I love learning about neuroscience, astrophysics, and biology, and I am passionate about embracing authenticity in both life and therapy.
